If ye Abide in Me
68
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7
Do you have the kind of faith that when you ask God for something you know it is done? This is the kind of faith I am striving for. Some people might think that they will ask for a million dollars and it will be done. Well, I don't agree with the polluted prosperity teaching that is still going around, but I do believe that the scriptures are true. If you were to ask for a million dollars just to have it obviously your heart is not in the right spot and you are probably not abiding in Christ.
I am not saying that Christians are never blessed with finances. What I am saying is that when we abide in Christ we can ask what we will and it shall be done unto us. This scripture is full of power! Here are the definitions of the word abide.
Definition of ABIDE (from Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
transitive verb 1: to wait for : await 2 a : to endure without yielding : withstand b : to bear patiently : tolerate <cannot abide such bigots> 3: to accept without objection <will abide your decision> intransitive verb 1: to remain stable or fixed in a state 2: to continue in a place : sojourn — abid·er noun — abide by 1 : to conform to <abide by the rules> 2 : to acquiesce in <will abide by your decision>
Synonyms: 1stay, dwell, hang around, remain, stick around, tarry
Antonyms: bail, bail out, bug out, buzz (off), clear off [chiefly British], clear out, cut out, depart, exit, get off, go, go off, leave, move, pack (up or off), peel off, pike (out or off), pull out, push off, push on, quit, shove (off), take off, vamoose, walk out
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage , and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait , I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:14
Waiting on the Lord is definitely an example of abiding in Christ. Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that we as Christians can abide in you and you in us. I pray that you will give us the faith and courage we need to be able to remain in you. Keep us from temptation and deliver us from evil. Thank you for your word and all your blessings you provide. In Jesus' Name Amen.

Paul said faith is all things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.Great hub SKy, I voted up and awesome.
There's a big difference between what seems to be "everyday" Christianity and True Christianity--that of taking up our cross and following, that of abiding. Thanks for distinguishing between the two, Sky!
Nicely done...and I really loved your picture.
Sky
I agree that we should not ask God for money itself. If we have money problem, we can ask the Lord on how to solve the problem.
